Wow sucks to hear you got stiffed by them, too, Bud. Screw all that, I'll just mold my own off my original bumpers haha that's pretty crappy business. Plus pretty much any racing/pro-touring forum is lit up with people saying the exact same thing as you. What did you do to reinforce the bumpers exactly?

Haven't really done much yet, {too much other stuff going on} I will probably mold in a piece of 1/8" aluminum on the back side probably a foot or so either side of the mounting points/bolt holes, for a little more stiffness, stronger/better bolting area... I was going to do the chrome/black chrome treatment to them, was going to modify the area where the blinkers go, block it off/fill it in, use a small 68 round marker lights for the blinkers, mold/break an aluminum air-dam/spoiler below it... I thought about molding my own bumpers too, but my bumpers aren't that great to begin with {mainly my rear bumper messed up dented, but relatively straight, fronts not bad, just dull chrome} if they were better I'd probably try it...

Here is my own set up I made. It's not painted yet as I am haveing it powder coated after the mock up in finished. It works well so far . Note the torque strut's to the motor mount pad's. Keeps the whole front end tied in as one.
There is one on both sides but hard to see in the pic the right one.
That looks pretty good, nice & simple, looks like your running a motor plate/elephant ears, I did something similar quite a few years ago, unfortunately I don't have much time lately to spend fabricating stuff up, so I just bought one "again"... do you have any more photos of it where you can see the suspension attachment points clearly... I see your about as good at photos, as I am...he he ha ha

QA1 has added attachment points for sway bar brackets that CAP didn't have, and I had to have welded in, when I bought mine.

Exactly, good point... probably 10+ years ago {2005-ish}, I did talk to them & they added tabs to the last one, I had bought, for a nominal fee to the lower control arms & the K-member mounts for front sway-bar...

What you want to see ? The lower CA are mounted as stock as is the K member. I put two aluminum struts from the top ao the K ( where the lowers mount) up the a bolt hole in the stock motor mount ears to keep the torque distributed through out the whole front end. Also keep forward/rearward flex down. Running a pinto Man rack also. Very Lite but strong at the same time. Now this is NOT and autocross front end but a good weekend pounder / drag front K frame. The rest of my frame can be seen in my post. http://www.forbbodiesonly.com/moparforum/showthread.php?62821-My-Not-so-Stock-69-Runner
Thanks for the input and all the help You Budnicks have given me !!

I haven't bought anything from Unlimited in years. I have purchased from VFN and US Body Source though. I have been contemplating Sled City Glass. They seem to have alot of stuff for our vehicles. I cannot remember the name of the company but I have been looking at their 66-67 RO23 scoop.
Huh I'll have to check them out, never heard the name as far as I know. I bought a "stinger hood" for my '67 Chevelle, hood itself was nice but took forever and a half to be made and shipped. About 5 months if I remember correctly and they originally told me it'd take 2 haha. Just irritates me waiting for so long for a product when the company takes their bite out of your wallet the day you place the order.

Sounds like a good plan Bud! That's what I was thinking if I molded my own, adding something like the aluminum plate you mentioned just for strong mounting points. Maybe one pad per mounting point and tying all 4 together with a strip of aluminum going across? Not sure how much weight that'd add but I doubt it'd be much and should hold up well.

And very cool Wedge thanks for posting those pics, looks awesome! What are you using for your uca's and lca's, aftermarket tubular or something?

Cool that's what I thought it looked like, very cool setup! Can't wait til I'm at that point with my project
