Quarter trim question, 68 Charger

The guys at the body shop are asking if the area behind this piece was filled with some kind of sealer? I'm assuming something was behind this to keep water out, thanks! Matt

Iput sealer behind mine when installed. Otherwise it leaves a huge gap for water to get in. ruffcut

I filled the area with 3M strip caulk to fill the void.
