Question about Carlisle

I've been to the Mopar Nats for many years, but this will be my first trip to Carlisle. I have a very nice driver (70 'Runner 440+6) and am not being interested in being judged. At the 'Nats I pay for a Regular entry that gets me, my buddy, and my car into the track for the weekend, goody bag, window sticker, etc. At Carlisle all I can find is entries for judged cars. I just want to take my car to Carlisle for the weekend, park, and enjoy the show. I don't want to sit by my car all day wiping every speck of dust off it and worrying about judging. Is there such an option at Carlisle that I'm missing? If I'm stuck either entering or parking with the hordes of spectators, would they care if I don't give a gnat's a** about being judged?

that should not be a problem.i've been there a couple of times. i think all you have to do is just follow the other people to the general parking and the attendants should be able to tell you where you can park.

Been there many times. All the locals are cashing in on parking in their yards. Get there a little earily, cruse around outside the event, you will see some differences in the cost of parking. (never paid over $20) Find a yard close to one of the gates and your good for the parking. Then walk thru one of the gates and pay your entry fee. (good for the whole day) You can come and go as you please. They do have parking on the grounds but they seem to go quick.

Also they run Max Wedges at South Mountain Dragway 1/8mile.(about 15 min.away, bus trip provided from the event)

And on that ending weekend there is US 30 Reunion in York Pa. (About a 20 min. drive, don't miss it!)

Then on Sunday about an hr. and a half north of Carlisle, Beaver Springs Dragway puts on a Nostalgic event that will blow you away! It's like going back in time. Even the track, anouncer, and the cars will make you feel like a kid again! Also well known Drivers will be there...

Yeah, but $40 gets me parking in the show field and admission for me and my brother for the entire weekend. That is less than two days yard parking outside the gates, then we would each have to pay the entry fee. Looks like I'm entering the show!

I think you will end up in the "FUN FIELD".Bring your own SHADE,cold water and sun screen:grin:

Parking at the Fun Field at the Mopar Nats is a madhouse. I see marked parking spaces in the pics of Carlisle. I likey!

My first time also, paid the $40 fee...will end up somewhere
Really looking forward to it

I called Carlisle and asked questions. What they call Show Field is like the Fun Field at the Mopar Nats - not judged at all, just come in and park. They said this is new this year where you park with other cars in your category. I'll be in with other 68-70 B body Modifieds - don't think an engine and air cleaner in body color plus aftermarket seats, Keisler 5-spd with hydraulic clutch, and factory mags off a Mirada would qualify as "Stock". Looking forward to it!
