Getting ready to do an HEI conversion on my 1965 Dodge Coronet the shop where I purchased my distributor and coil in a package deal told me that I am able to remove the ballast resistor. Because the new coil is internally resisted. Now here is my question if I remove the resistor will I mess any thing up with the rest of the wiring system because there are 2 wires coming in and two wires going out. Or would I gust be better off running a new 12 volt source to the distributor.

If you are asking about removing the ballast resistor and running a jumper wire in its place, yes you can if you require a full 12V to the module. I did this for my MSD.

Hey Brian, did you check your other thread about this in "Electrical & Ignition"?
Or are you really worried that you're going to fry something (?):icon_razz:

I did the HEI module conversion to two of my cars and it works great. I left the resistor on the firewall so it would look stock and just ran a wire from the 12 volt side of the resistor to the module.
