If someone can help I would really appreciate it.

I just purchased a 1967 Satellite. The quarter window vertical molding and seal is missing(In case you don't know this is the molding that attaches directly to the front edge of the rear side quarter window vertically. This a bright chrome trim molding which is necessary to mount the vertical window weatherstrip, The vertical window weatherstrip separates the front and quarter side windows). I cannot find this molding anywhere!

My question is can I use just any molding from any car and cut it to size? Is there any other specific years or vehicles molding I should be looking for that would also fit. Or would fit that could be cut to size. Ecklers has a repop molding for a Chevelle but at $70 I don't want to buy it and just hope it works.

I did already check the parts for sale thread and put a list in the WTB section.

Any help or insight would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Contact Moparmark and see if he has anything or do a search for mopar junkyards and give them a call.

Any moulding won't work you need the part from 66' to 67' satellite/belvedere or 67' gtx
Just keep an eye out and you will find one soon enough

Next Question

Found One!! I think. From Stephens Performance in Alabama. They said they have one for $129(Ouch! but it doesn't matter I would have paid twice as much, I really need one ). But they said they can only send me one if it isn't riveted to the glass and she wasn't sure what years were. Ill find out soon enough I guess if they don't send it.

So next question. Does anybody know how the molding is attached on the 67 Satellite? Is it riveted?
If it is riveted, if I order a new quarter window from say HERE you think it will come with the molding attached?

Thanks for any help.

My 68 Satellite also has them...fortunately mine are there and in nice condition. Good luck hope you had a nice find. btw there is a guy that occassionally advertises out of Bakersfield Ca. The story is he sells strictly overseas but will feel sorry for us here locally for a PRICE!

The trim piece is the same for coronet and they are glued on the Glass. You will not get the piece from the glass supplier. Also keep looking for glass, prices are all over the map from these guys. Every piece of glass comes from two factories in Tiawan. All these guys are doing is brokering. if you find a piece with the stainless piece soak with WD40 and it will come off in a few days.

Thanks. Ill try looking this guy up if things fall through with the one I ordered out of Alabama. Or if it turns out to be junk.

Which side do you need? I have one for the drs. side! The molding is year and model specific! 66-67 get back to me on the piece.

You can try popping out interior trim panel and check to see it molding fell into body of car. Found mine that way...
