Is the game between the drive shaft and the Thrustboard normal, see photo?

Never heard them referred to by those names before, but to answer your question, the distance between the sector shaft and the end plate is set when the sector is adjusted. Once it is set and the lock nut tightened the only play will be between the head of the adjuster bolt and the slot on the shaft it sits in. There is a spec in your service manual as to what that should be. It is measured with a feeler gauge and adjusted with shims
