Why is vin Numbers differences 6 months in production? Why is it not in sequence with buildate and Vin?

Then its interesting to know,
Why is it september on door TAG and A02 on fendertag that means 2.october.
And one question about Vin. Car produced in desember 1969 Get vin 128xxx los Angeles plant.
Lynch road car Get vin 128xxx in september 1969? Any suggestions?

The scheduled production date (SPD) is not a firm date. It is simply a scheduled or target date. For various reasons, cars were built prior to and after the scheduled date production date listed on the tag. Most cars were probably NOT built on their scheduled date.

For this reason, the scheduled date month listed on the fender tag often does not match the date listed on the or sticker. When this happens, go by the date on the sticker, assuming the door hasn't been changed.

Some package cars, such as Superbirds or 69 A12 6 pack cars, only have one or two SPDs. Obviously, not all of them were built on a single or two dates.

Thank you!

As Wile posts, production volume at the various plants was different. Lynch Road was a main, high volume plant. LA was a low volume plant. Therefore, VINS from LA will be lower and later than other plants.

Thank you 69 Coronetrt!
Nice to know, and a very good explanation of how it was at lynch road at that time.
I have 2 rt bbodycars a charger 69 and a coronet 70 lynch road car and everybody know about the special fendertag from that plant.
