Question for '70 GTX/RR owners

Hi guys. I'm looking to replace the 440 callout on the back of the hood bulge as mine is missing. Herb's Parts sells a backing plate for $40 and the emblem for $65. I have no reference as to what was there originally as my car was missing all of the emblems. Does the original consist of an adhesive backed 440 emblem that is stuck onto a metal plate that is secured to the hood insert? If so, does anyone know of a cheaper source? Thanks.

Yes it is a foil type paste on decal on the plate. I have a very nice used hood call out plate/decal for a 70 RR or GTX but it has a 383 decal which i would like to keep for a spare for mine so if you are interested in the backing plate let me know

Can anyone take a couple of pictures of the backing plate for me? A tracing of it would be dynamite. Also, does the emblem/sticker cover the whole plate? I think I'm going to make my own plate out of stainless.
