I have a block that looks like it has a production date of 7-8-92. I read that starting in the 93 production year the 360 switched to the magnum block. This block is not a magnum and it seems aweful late in the year to still be making blocks for the 92 models. I could not find a vin # so I'm assuming it's a factory replacement block. Starting in 86 all 360 LA motors are roller cam motors. I have a nice set of 915 J heads. How difficult will it be to use these heads on this block?

92 was the start of the magnums. What are the casting numbers?

LA blocks oil rockers through passage from cam bearings
Magnum blocks oil rockers through hollow push rods, so that passage in not present.
If that rocker oil passage is present, 915 small block heads are a bolt on.

It should be a LA hydraulic roller block? If it is? It's a nice piece. You can use the factory hydraulic roller tappets with the hydraulic roller cam of your choice with the LA heads of your choice.
