Question on a Questionable Mirror

My '64 Polara 500 has a rectangular remote mirror on the driver's door, and a twin post circular mirror on the passenger side.

This discussion has me wondering, is rectangular the right shape for the remote mirror?

Not sure about the Polara 500, on my 440 I have a round remote, which now I remember the guy that I bought it from said it came off of a Polara.

There is a different mirror that I've got on two of my '65's. Both cars were bought from original owners, (different cars and owners) and they both have the same mirror, but NOT the twin posts. It does have a bit larger base than the twin post mirrors. I believe these to be original mirrors per '65 B-body era. This may be why there are differences.
Check out mrkingers' 65 Plymouth on the last page of 'lets see your cars post. Those are the same mirrors I have on my original '65 Satellite convertible, and '65 Plymouth hardtop.
