This will be my first time shipping a car part. Any recommendations on what shipping method? Any recommendations on payment options so that we both are satisfied and no one is able to screw the other? Want to shipping a steering column and wheel, and hood hinges.
thanks

Sounds like your best bet is three separate boxes. The most expensive item to ship is the steering column due to the size of the box. The steering column I shipped a few months ago was 60+ dollars UPS. That was the best rate at the time, but rates change often. All I can say is put the items in as small a box as you can to safely protect them and shop rates. Most everyone has online calculators.

I use ShipNex https://www.shipnex.com/default.aspx to ship all my stuff. Free to sign up. Box it up, weight it, and get the dimensions. They will get you the best rates and give you options. Print the label and drop off. You can even schedule a pickup. I just sent 2 71 Charger bumpers to Tri-City to re-chrome. Box was almost 70 pounds and huge. $76 picked up at my door.

I agree with the individual boxes for each.

I doubt there's a shipping company on the planet that doesn't have on-line quoting so measure and weigh your stuff and start looking. I suspect you'll find they're all within a few bucks of each other.

Yup, use the smallest box that will safely do the job. Pack it so that it can be dropped from waist height on any side without damage. Protect corners, ends, and edges. I buy and sell antique radios and amps. Ship them all over the world. Never had a problem.

I ship hundreds of packages every year. Go to USPS.com and FedEx.com and get quotes. Probably box the column in one box and the wheel and hinges in another. Pack them really well. So you can drop them from 6' with no damage.
Need the size and weight of each package. I stop using UPS years ago. Slower and more costly than FedEx. Get insurance too.
I take PayPal, checks and money orders but most pay with PayPal.

Lighter, smaller stuff usually goes USPS
Heaver and bigger FedEx.
I use YRC truck freight for body parts such as hoods and doors and also motors.

PayPal has worked great for me. Do it with fees if you need the protection they offer, or if you trust the buyer/seller, family & friends with no fees. It's fast and you don't have to wait on the mail and for checks to clear, etc. It takes very little time to setup an account with them. You only have to furnish information to them on a secure link one time.
