Car was running great but today not so good. After it warms up it dies...have fuel, good ballast resistor, voltage to coil, 12volts to orange box.. when I check from orange box to to distributor (at plug) get .5 volts.
This make sense?

Are all your wires/connections in good shape?
Check any wires that are 'taped up'.
Mine used to run great cold but after long drives when hot is would die at random, especially when put in gear.
Like it had a kill switch...
Turns out someone in the past had taped some wires up in the engine compartment. When the car was cold all continuity/ohms & grounds checked out OK. Evidently when it got hot the wires sagged & lost connection.
It was a bugger to figure out & then OBVIOUS when I peeled off the tape to see what was under it.
This was the primary coil connection:

Snipped it off, put on new, problem solved!

I added the extra ground to mine. I've read a lot of info on the Orange boxes and it seems they were hit or miss for a while. I don't know how the new ones are or who's making them. I had a few go out and some with almost no time on them, now I keep a spare with me. The last one I bought was off Ebay from a guy in Michigan I believe, said he was making them. It was like $15 shipped. It's the only one I've had last so far.

IMHO, ALL boxes need to have a REALLY good ground. Grind the paint off the box, grind the paint off the firewall. Orange boxes are only good for low RPM street applications, for any big HP/RPM you need something more.

Added additional grounds....did the electrical checks. Replaced the ignition control box acting nice again.

Back of the module had what looked looked like shrinkage cracks and some discoloration around the edges. As I said in the original post car would start fine when cold, after it warmed up to operating temp it would die...no spark.

The removed module was part of the Proform electronic conversion package...less than a year in running operation..China.
