Just purchased some crane ductile iron adjustable rocker arms. Not at home (out of state in military) to check length, so ordered some 9.250" ball and cup push rods; as Mopar sells 9.2" for Adj. setups and Edelbrock stated the use of 9.250" for solid lifters with their cylinder heads. Ordered a .590 Mechanical cam kit with lifters from Mopar. Also ordered a 3-bolt timing chain. The Rocker arms are brand new and came with shims and spacers but did not come with the shaft. My shaft and stamped rocker setup is also new.

Can I use the shaft from my stock stamped rockers for the Adjustable crane rockers? Is their a good website for instructions on setting the lash?

Thank you for the replies.

Stock shafts are fine. I tell you though.......you'd be money WELL spent to have those rockers bushed, if they are not. They are great pieces, but you have aluminum heads and a lot of money tied up in that engine. Bronze bushings would go a long way for adding durability.

Yep, you can run the stock shaft. Also make sure you have the minimum amount of threads showing on the ball side of the adjuster - like 2 threads or so - when you are fully adjusted and ready to run.

Those are good rockers but I should tell you the problem I had with my new set of Cranes. The adjusters kept backing off (hydraulic cam) and I think the reason is the screw is so hard it doesn't yield when the lock nut is torqued. I finally solved the problem by using a softer nut and cranking them down until it felt like I was going to break something. I never had this issue with adjustable rockers before but don't recall the adjuster screw being this hard either.
