So I have my new tie rod ends and sleeves painted and ready to go on.

Do the LEFT HAND threads go towards the inside (in other words, they connect to the steering bar)?

Thanks for the help,

Hawk

I'm not sure about the thread direction but there is an inner and outer tie rod so I would say since there sold like that I would believe they're not the same they need to be placed in the proper orientation.

Hi Badmopar67,

Yes, there is an inner and an outer - one has right hand threads and one has left hand threads. This is so you can turn the sleeve and adjust the wheel in and out from the center steering bar.

Problem is, I am not sure which is the inner tie rod end. Does it have left hand threads?

Thanks,

Hawk

Just checked my 67 my outer tie rods are right-hand threads

Just to add....it really doesn't matter as along as there is a right and left hand thread per side.

LOL. You're right of course. As long as you can adjust them in and out I'm sure it would work OK, but my OCD wanted to get it right! :read2:

Thanks for the help!

As mentioned already, it doesn't matter and will work either way. Mopar did use the right hand ones for the outers & left hand inners. It's very common to find them switched too.
