Hi i have a 68' coronet, was originally a 440 318 car, but I when i do the resto i need to decide if its gonna be an R/T car or a Super Bee car, i have a 383 now but will be putting in a 440 one day and i know the 68' bee didn't come with the 440 so theres a strike. I also would like it to be a plum crazy car (don't know 68'equivalent). I find the red of the R/T looks nicer on the plum crazy, if i were to do a Super Bee it would probably be QQ1 blue. I also don't know if the bee came with the power bulge hood. If i did do a super bee i would probably stroke the 383 for now and go hemi one day, i wanna keep my non original car original, if thats makes sense.

Thanks
The Green Coronet
edit- saw posted in wrong place can admin move to 66-70, thanks

If it's a HT, it can't be a "Bee". 68 Bees were all coupes.
You'll need a Power bulge hood either way. Not cheap.
Plum Crazy was not a color option for '68.

A suggestion, how about you make it just a really neat, good looking, nice running Coronet instead of trying to make it something it's not?

Heck ya, it's your car, do what you want.

Post pictures though.

Heaps easier to go to a bee from a 440 because the tail lights and rear trim are the same between the two. Also the bee had the 'dodge' grill the 440 had. If you want to make it an RT you'll need to swap the rear lights, center trim panel and rt badges front and rear. So if you can find a centre panel and tail lights(lights are easy) your looking at around a grand in those parts alone.

Not trying to put you off, just some reality. Going to an RT look is going set you back a decent amount before you've even started on what you have. But that rear panel look awesome. I've gone to the rt rear cos I love the look, but I'm not making an 'rt' if you catch my drift.

I would leave it in 440 trim, add 6 pack hood, steelies with dog dish caps and go cruising

Good advice.

I really wanna make it one of the 2 and i do love the look of the rt tail lights, the main reason I wanted to make it a R/T, although super bee does sound cooler so it will probably be a Super Bee, also for ease of conversion. I already need all new badges and a grille so not to much worry on the badges and grille just the rear end.
