Racers stop lurking and contribute

I raced mopars from 1962 to 1985. It just got to costing to much to compete. All but two of my 9 race cars where B bodies of one form or another. One car was a 1937 Fiat A altered, 392 hime w/clutchflight. And one was a 1970, 440/4spd Challenger. I bought that car new to drag race it. But I never liked the car or the way it hooked. It was a lazy car out the gate. Again it just got to costing to much and eating is a lot more fun than racing.

I agree!!!!! I keep telling you that I'll come get the Hemi Belvedere and take care of it for you since you have your hands full with the two Coronets and the 63 Ply.
It'll be really happy beside dads 65 I promise! It will have a warm garage to sleep in over the winter also. :idea1: :idea1:

Nothing wrong with the Pur Stock racing either and that sound pretty competitive to me. and like the F.A.S.T. racing not nearly as hard on the cars.

My opinion is!If you want to race build a car for that.If you are into the restored then build it for that!An all out race car is a pretty tough deal,it's hard on the car no matter how it is built! You have to work on it constantly,A restored car you put it together once and enjoy it!Drive it to a show or cruise park and clean it up! I actually do do both, race and cruises. But it's what works for you personally.

That's not always true. A lot depends on how fast it is and how it's built. My old car was capable of running low 10.50's but it wasn't consistent there so it got detuned a bit and it became deadly consistent at 19.68 against the converter or 10.69 leaving at an idle. Once it was broke in and tuned right for what I wanted, even the valve lash stayed in place and it ran the whole season with very little needed other than basic maintenance like oil changes etc....
