Radiator value ... help please

Hello people
I hope you guys can help me with putting a value on a rad I have kicking around in my storage for wayyy too long.

It checks out as a rad from a 1969 , 383 automatic, 22 inch

I am going through my stash of forgotten parts, and was wondering if this is worth keeping or selling, or off to scrap.

It appears to be for a 65 C-body 383 4v auto car. Since this style was used in many A/B-bodies up to 69 (round tank), I wouldn't throw it away. Scrap is down and wouldn't be much in return. You may post it on the C-body forum.

You might get $5 for it in scrap value. There is probably someone that would love to have it.
I have seen guys on FABO that give stuff away to fellow members just for the cost of shipping. I've done it too. There are parts that are often not worth much but the wy that I see it, if it helps someone move their project along, I'll help when I can.

The radiator looks like a leaker to me and not worth much more than scrap prices unless someone needs the tanks for a correct radiator. Those numbers look like the same number for a 65 C body big block.These days a core replacement is creeping up on $350.00 for a good 22" plus a another $200.00 labor to replace it. Should be worth $50.00 to someone looking for one. I thought I saw someone looking for that number just the other day. I would advertise it for a while before scrapping it.

Thats a great idea, I have traded parts for donations (Cancer foundation) in the past.

I could advertise it, but me living in Canada its going to cost a fortune to ship. It is good for a rebuildable core for the numbers matching car, but if its nothing special ... I would prefer to give it away.

A guy with 50 yeras experience owning his own rad. repair business told me, IF they sit for years with no antifreeze, they dry rot. The tanks could be used for recore no doubt. I believe him.

I would agree with that - I've owned my garage for over 30 years - I would not consider using this rad as is. Problem we are facing hear is less and less rad shops and even less that can weld/unweld a rad core. Maybe a rad shop for HD truck rads, I think they still can.

I have no idea about value, but might check with GlenRay as they buy some radiators for the upper and lower tanks.

Funny enough, the first thing I did was google the numbers. The first page I opened came up with a 1969 383 4v which made sense as that what my 69 Bee came with. I have found more reliable pages like the one you linked.
I was more concerned about the rarity of the rad. I have seen some post in various forums about people unknowingly throwing away some hard to find stuff.
