Radio recomendations?

Well to be honest its hard to say at the moment since the dash is sitting on my table in the garage. But with the shitty speaker i have it played well. The Bluetooth works well and so does the AM/FM I didnt try a usb stick to see how that works but I assume it works well like everything else did. Only issue I had with the unit, is that it comes in several parts. Knobs in one box face plates in another push buttons in another and the front chome bezel in another. Once you put it all together it fits pretty decent in the face plate. I need to figure out the rear bracing since its a little farther away from the stock rear brace location. I didnt have an antenna hooked up but just stuck a piece of wire in the antenna hole and got a few stations just from doing that.

I've been thinking of this for years. Threw away the thumbwheel and hacked the plate before I knew better. 1988. I'd like a little more thump, and access to satellite radio if possible.

Well I boxed it up and took it to UPS 3 days ago, should arrive at Wards today. We will see if he can live up to his 2-3 week turn around.

RC I sent mine to Ward on Tuesday, it arrived yesterday at their place. He advertises that if you follow his packing instructions and include payment it's a 1-2 week turn around. I'll keep you posted.

I put one in our 71 Charger and found it to work very well. Got the dual speaker mount for the front and put two 4" speakers in along with 6x9's in the back. Radio works well,pairs with phone,bluetooth works with no distortion. We were not trying to blow up the neighborhood with a too loud system. Really like the usb as we will go to many places and can take our own music. Ours is a Hermosa radio so the shafts fit our Rallye dash.

No it was pretty easy, once you figure out which brackets to use. Took all of 10 minutes to get something that looked like a radio. I had it hooked up in the dash powered by an old computer power supply. Just so I could have tunes while putting the door lock assembly and door glass parts together. Used a USB stick loaded with Master of Puppets and rocked the doors together..

I forgot to report back. The radio was returned in the 2-3 weeks just like promised. Everything looked great. Only thing I could find that I didn't like was they put the fuse right next to the radio in the harness. I will solder in a longer lead so I can get the fuse closer to the bottom of the dash in case I need to change it.

Where did you get that front mount from?

68, nope. Basically just FM added & 4 speaker wired with LR & FR balance added. Haven't got it in the car but will update when I do.

Anybody look into these by AAR. Antique auto radio. New, Not rebuilt. Mp3 input, bluetooth preamp outputs etc. Looking to possibly buy one of these.

This is the least invasive way to do this. I have the stock AM unit & I'm going to convert at some point this winter using my orig dash speaker.

Thats slick if your original AM works, but no stereo sound. Reminds me of a modern version of those old realistic FM converters they sold in the 70s. My big brother had one in his 67 mustang around 1979.
