Well I Googled, "brown letters on tires" and it looks like it's been a problem for at least the last ten years or so. Especially BFG's.
Apparently it is the wax that's incorporated in the rubber, to keep it from drying out, that comes to the surface. It's called "blooming", and after washing the tire over a period of time , it will stop bleeding through as much.
I had 3 sets replaced by BFG and I have finally given up, I used AWESOME cleaner ( cheap stuff from dollar general ) it cleaned them up , lasts about 2 weeksRead the pages of information about this subject on Moparts. It appears to happen to 255 60-15 and 275 60-15 the most. Experienced it myself and even had a pair exchanged out by Discount Tire.

Same issue here BFG Radial T/A 255/60/15 made April 2014. Dang brown. Fronts are BFG 215/70 stay nice and white.Mine are 255 60 15's and made in Aug 2014
I think I've figured out why mine are hard to keep clean
