My dad is contemplating putting the Ramcharger scoop on his 67 Coronet and I was wondering if there was a preferred maker for these scoops? I'm more of a Mustang guy myself and I know that certain companies just make better fitting fiberglass than others. Any recommendations on who makes good scoops or any other scoop you guys think may look good?

DO NOT GET THEM FROM YEAR ONE ! , I don't know who their supplier of these are, but they are not even close, ...THEY SUCK !.......The Year One pieces are about 1/2 inch narrower and 1/2 shorter in height than original pieces and they are made from cheap plastic not fiberglass as the original were. ....The original bezels will not fit them with out extensive modifications to the scoop and lots of filling in where there is no material where it should be,.....Ordered a set from them 2 years ago, Had to return them.

VFNfiberglass.com. I don't know anyone that has used one from them but they are nice and are strong per some people I talked to at a swapmeet.

The Mopar guy who is doing the paint and body work on my dad's car said the same thing about Year One's stuff. I'm kind of surprised considering, 1, how big they are and 2, how expensive their stuff is.

VFN had a 4-5 week wait on their scoops when I called a few days ago.

I got my 67 scoop from Sled City Fiberglass and I am very happy with fit, finish and quality!

I ended up ordering it from Glasstek. Someone on one of the Mopar forums (may have even been this one) said they had one from Glasstek and it was great with fit, finish and quality. I'd heard great things about Sled City, VFN and Glasstek but Glasstek was the only one who could get it to me in the next week or two. Thanks for all the valuable input guys!

Let us know how the Glasstek parts are in the fit and finish dept. ?

I looked at AAR actually since they are local here in Florida. They look like they have some really nice stuff and have gotten some great reviews. Unfortunately they wanted twice as much for their scoop as I paid for the one I got. Only time will tell if I end up paying for that in the end, haha.

The AAR Scoop is built with a metal tig welded frame. The opening on the scoop wil not vibrate, flap around and then crack, yes they are much more money then the others but this is an area that will become a head ache with a cheaper scoop.

Oh I did not know that. Well when the scoop does arrive I'll check it out and talk it over with the guy whose doing the paint and body work and see what he thinks. That's an excellent point that spending the extra money now might save me more in the long run.
