These are the original part # L2406 Powerforged Pistons
I believe I have had them on the shelf for the best part of 50 years.
I very much prefer them to the supecede number TRWs from the newer years.
I believe the tolerances and metallurgy to be superior to the Chinese forged
"finished in USA" junk you find anymore.
The skirts on this part number seem to be both more consistent and not nearly
as subject to collapsing over time and load.
These are exactly what I run in our National recording setting AllStars winning 318
wagon that set the record at 11.79. if built to NHRA specs it will afford 9.3 compression.
If you block is decked more and you run a thinner gasket you can get near 10 to 1 depending
on your heads.
The pistons are brand new shiny and never out of the old box until tonight.
I run these as pressed pins because NHRA does not bring a press to the track to take them
apart to see if each piece measure to weight specs. I cheated a bunch on rotating weight. No
actually difference in performance between pressed pins and floating in my testing
These include custom made for me unbreakable B and B engineering pistons pins that are 1/2 the weight
of the factory pins and double the strength of the stock pins or more. they have twenty passes on them but
are in excellent shape. They cost me more than I am asking for everything.
I am asking $175.00 Plus $28 shipping and insurance.
The last set I saw was 2017 with this number was on the A Forum and they were corroded and pasty. They looked like they
were under our Chicken Coup (Yes I am a Hick) for 50 years! The just had the stock paperweight heavy pins.
They were sold on the A Forum for $175.00
You can find a cheaper piston but not this number piston I do not believe!
