I just talked to Rays family and he did have one white number 96 car not sure if this is that car or not . But this blue car is now in the 1971 livery Riverside winner . The rest were all blue with white tops. All the pictures I took were taken at Ray's home / shop today . I was there with his wife a family menbers to welcome the car home . Ray was the frist nascar to be sponsered by a beer company. And he was the first car to win a Winston cup race Rverside 1971. Your first picture with the truck was Ray,s I reconize the tow truck .I think it's so faded you cannot see the blue. Thank you for your interest I will foward it to Ray's wife Pat.
The #4 gold on white car (bottom right photo post #2) is an original period race car that was transformed via a paint job to replicate Hershel McGriffs LeMans car run in 1976. It has been running in the LeMans classic for quite some time now.
Was it originally a Ray Elder car (picture to left of it)? I have always wondered who campaigned it before it was turned into #4.
