Real men have colonoscopies...

Got my first one at 50. Dr.told me I "was a perfect azzhole" and said see me in 10 years.
Lost a friend to colon cancer last year at 61 and I'm a melanoma survivor. My sister just started treatments for non Hodgkin's lymphoma. It finds many of us young and old.
Finding out EARLY is the key to conquering it.

I had mine in August. Doc said I'm good for another 10 years. It wasn't too bad - kind of like taking a light nap. I was aware of what what going on, but didn't much care - I was nice and relaxed. If you've ever had a catheter (I have), this thing is no big deal. LOL

Since age 50, I've had three so far- found two polyups each time- all benign. My Aunt died from it at age 37. Guys, if your over 50 and have health care , please get one done- they are not bad at all- the before prep is the worst thing.

OK. Reading this thread's a wakeup call. I just ran to the fridge, got 2 carrots & an apple...and am setting my colonoscopy alarm for half past 45...

For those who have not had it done, the worst part of a colonoscopy is the Colon-Blow you have to drink the day before & the effects it has on you. You are asleep for the butt camera/probe & that's not a problem at all.

Nailed it! Gotta stay close to the shizzer. For me;it was the effed-up IV insertion. Freakin' nurse tagged bone-TWICE-and then made the "...fear of needles..." comment when I flinched. WTF?

Best thing I could do is have one done. My farther has had colon cancer twice and I am a cancer survivor myself. I would rather go through a little discomfort and know that everything is ok

i at age 41 got checked and found out that i had colon cancer. had surgery and went thru 8 months of chemo. still have it but will not let it win. i am determined to get rid of this. get checked its worth it. god bless everyone, dont want no one to go through what i have done. usaroadrunner

You can beat it. Keep up the good work. I have it in my family and so I'll be due in a few years to do the procedure.

I did mine at 49, Found cancer, did radiation, chemo then rectum removal. April will be 3 years cancer free! I have to get scoped next days off, but now they go in thru the side. It is worth getting it done! I wish I would have done it 8 months sooner like I wanted to.

Not that I would but I could go to prison now and not have to worry about dropping the soap!

thanks for all the positive feedback guys, thats awesome, makes me fighting that much harder. i forgot to mention that the chemo is shrinking this crap, hopefully wont be to much longer and it maybe be gone and stay gone. thanks again everybody. big time proof that this is one awesome site and mopar guys and gals rule.
