I've been hired to clean up a 69 Camaro, and build a Rotisserie for it, so the customer can do things easier, but, I got to share this somewhere, can't really share too much on my webpage as the customer may get offended, so, I'm sharing here. He did the Mini Tub kit himself, and the truism "If you think it's expensive to hire a professional, hire an amateur" is SO true! All his 'work' will need to be ripped out, and replaced with structure, and proper welding, and adhesion. He had bathtub caulk lathered on these so-called welding beads, absolutely pathetic work. Absolutely!

HOLY SMOKES Donny!!!!!!!!! I'm not the best bodyman or fabricator, but I don't think I did that bad starting out.

The 69 Camaro is a high-valued and priced vehicle, so, it's worth restoring, and worth doing it RIGHT! He's going to continue his 'restoration' when I'm done with it. If you're out there to buy one of these cars 'done', make SURE the pics are included that back up what the talk is!

I call that bird **** welding. And all the metal that was "welded" on is destroyed and will need to come out. At least it's in good hands now.

I have a packet of dried noodles that looks like that. What the hell was he thinking...oh sorry, he obviously wasn't thinking. Good luck with the repairs Donny.....looks like you need it.

At least the guy had the sense to know when he was licked and bring it to a pro before it got any worse.

I built and (mostly) painted bikes in the 90s and early 2-oughts, before and, (much much) worse, DURING the television bike-show boom.

Before, guys would bring me a pile of parts and say "build me a cool bike."
DURING... guys would bring me a booger-welded pile of **** and say "can you un-F this?".

It sure looks easy on TV, don't it?

The mindset of these people is what baffles me "who in they're right mind would take on a job like that if that was all they were capable of". That is horrible, not only the welding but the fab work is just as bad. Good luck with that

Like stated before, at least he admitted things needed to be redone. I still think I would have been embarrassed bringing it to you and having you see the work I did.

Oof.
