Really Bad work, I mean BAD!

Oh my God! Can I borrow these pictures and put them in my album and tell people my work doesn't look like this? Wow! You better get to work. I think you'll have some time invested in this one.

I've seen blob'n'grind welding efforts before, but there isn't even anything to grind on some of those pictures.

A buddy of mine is a chassis builder (and a fantastic one at that) and I have seen cars come into his shop where they owner tried doing their own roll cages, 4 links etc. Just like the welds you show above. I'm all for do it yourself. But a man has to know his limitations.

Crazy what some people will do.

I have a car now that has a new cage that has to come out because of dirt dauber welds. I'm just glad he didn't make a stab at doing the tubs. That's still stock. About the only thing about the cage I may leave are the main hoop floor plates. the front down bars are too far back for my liking...

Eeeek!!!!

Its a Chebby, so that looks factory to me hahaha.

WOW ! And thay tell me thay can do it Cheaper on there own than pay me to do it Rite !?!?!
It will take more work to Redo that car than it would have if it was done rite !!
Funny thing is I have seen the same work roll into my shop.

I know! Sad thing is he likely has no idea his work sucks! And, he's an Air Force Pilot too! Jeesh! lol

Thanks to all of you for you insights. I was thinking of doing more work on my own and changed my mind after reading your posts. I want my cars right so I'll continue searching out people who do good work, pay them in cash, and not set tight deadlines.

Some work the owner can do himself, for sure! This is what it's all about! But, when you wreck it, or damage it to the point it's not safe let alone ugly, then why do it? This Camaro guy his his sins under a lot of bathtub caulking and under coating. He didn't hire me to fix his work, just blast it. I recommended he get it fixed, but, that was something he said he'd tend to, no problem, really, just trying to make it right, and safe, and of course a few more dollars in my coffer, but hey, no prob!

Here's the work I did on another 69 Camaro that's currently in for everything; Media Blast, new Metal, fabrication, Mini Tubs, new floors, qtrs, firewall, roof. I just wrapped this Mini Tub up last week.

Oh my. I don't even have anything witty to say about that.
I think it is welding in name only.
But he can probably fly a plane better than me.

Donny,
That looks like a rattle can of Rustoleum Self Etching Primer by the Camaro.

(By the cap color)
I just found that stuff at the home store and tried a can of it on a blasted steel dash and the aluminum thingy part of a steering column.

It is rattle car etch, I use it often, the wheelhouses came in bare steel, they were rusty a bit, blasted them clean, putting them in etch is good for working/welding on them, when done, epoxy over 'em.

As the old saying goes. "Nobody sweats the details like GM", and it looks like this GM owner didn't sweat the details. He sure could tear up a crowbar in a sandbox, no doubt! Good work!

We don't need no stinking OSHA.
Yes. I've seen his ads: "Third World Welding LLC. Great rates. No job too hazardous."
But I'm not seeing a diode or rectifier on his equipment, so I'm guessing he only does AC welding.

I think this is the guy that did that welding.
