How can you tell?
It is an open carrier, not a sure-grip. The pin and spiders are visible from the side, and a sure-grip would cover the whole area up. About the only thing visible would be the ends of the spider cross bars. Also, the case would have 5 or 6 bolts holding it together. Another type would have exposed springs (4) in the middle.
