Rear end info

Cranky thanks, i didn't know this and no i have not ever seen or heard of that until this. Im just trying to figure out why the guy did some things to the car, more what he did. I bought this off a guy in a local town hear, he went and brought the car back for himself, he then found a Cuda, his dream car, so i kind of decided to get this as a quick turn around which didn't work. Its not that big of a deal but i cant get ahold of anyone to find anything out about the car, i have an original email from negotiations we had but he since then has changed his email and its been over 7 year now. So im playing the guessing game here.. i thank all you guys for everything you have told me, im guessing maybe this differential is the original for what ever reason..
You guys have been talking about codes with the GTX, RR ect.. which is interesting, anyone know what the RH stands for in the VIN on mine, first 2 are RH on the VIN? later on i do want to change this rear to a sure grip and maybe a lower ratio, but thats down the line right now, i kind of have my hands full with a couple things here..

And no i have no build sheet, i figured if it did have one someone thru it out considering its the Satellite not a real RR, Ive heard sometimes they had them under the back seat but i had ALL the interior out when i did this car, i had to put a patch in under the gas pedal, imagine that... I didn't know until i took it out, i was just going to wire brush the floor and paint it, which i did do, but the only thing with the interior that i left in was the head liner, i didn't want to chance any tear getting in it. But thanks guys... appreciate this..

Thanks again Cranky, Just checked some on this... couple things i know now, manufactured in Canada.. Did come with 318.. Thanks for the link ill keep that one! Nothing on the differential but oh well, it is what it is...

hey guys just curious, i have a 400 4 speed 74 it has the 8 3/4 was wondering if the rearend housing has a vin stamp or anything like that on it to link it to the car. Thanks

There is no VIN on the rearend housing but as stated earlier Mopar did use the 8.75 rearend in HP B-Body cars up until 74. This would be especially true with a 400, 4spd car. Check the rear suspension of the car, it should have larger shock plates then the 71-72 cars as well as larger locator holes in the spring perches for the isolator suspension.
