I would do the needed repairs on the engine stand. I believe the neoprene seal can be rotated out of there with the crank in place after you remove the seal cap/retainer. But I am not familiar with the billet seal setup. At the very least , replace the old neoprene seal with a new one while you have the motor out. I have never had a new one leak. But now I also use some ultra black silicone as added insurance. Good luck down there!
