I would guess it depends on how much your time is worth to pull it apart again if the 'cleaned' disc slips...

I wouldn't be to sure it's not the cam plug. I knocked one of those loose in a Pontiac once changing cams without realizing it. Once I started it up and drove it, I had most of the underside of the car coated in oil within a few miles. Good news was the clutch was fine.
Prime oil system for several minutes before putting it back together, think you'd that.
