hello crowd,

yesterday received Koni shocks for my charger 70 restoration project. Ordered a reference 82 1255, as per specification, but the size doesnt match with the original. What is the real Koni reference for their shocks for my car? what can i order instead as a replacement?

On the pics you can see the difference.

thanks all for the input

Looks like the bottom bushing has a steel sleeve in it. Double check you might have the wrong ones.

What are the two shocks compressed and extended eye to eye measurements.

ordered KYB. looks like Koni is aware of the problem, and still specify this reference as b body item which doesn't fit

Dump the KYB shocks. They are terrible.
Koni shocks are excellent. I have heard though that the lower bushing has to be changed. Koni either is oblivious to the error or doesn’t care that they are wrong for Mopar applications. Bilstein shocks are an excellent alternative to the Koni and they fit with no modifications.

I used 82-1255 Koni on my GTX with no problems.
I do remember removing that crush sleeve but used the stock Mopar washer with the big/little hole.
Koni are streaks ahead of KYB IMO

I used KYB's on a couple of cars years ago. Then tried a set of Bilsteins, and glad I did. Have them on all 3 of my cars now. PST sells Bilsteins and gives a 10% discount to members here.

Kyb are an affordable step up from Monroe bounce o matics. Nothing wrong with them for the casual user
