Hello all,

Can you guys recommend a good Hemi builder to assemble an all-aluminum Hemi long block? I want around 600 hp from this engine, no more than 650-ish hp. I contacted Tim @ FHO and he only builds 572s and that is out of my range hp wise. I don't want to build a monster cube engine and downsize the cam to reach "only" 600 hp. So most likely a 4.25" bore aluminum block, no porting to the heads, correct? I also want to have a roller cam in it.

Engine is going into a 70 Cuda 4-speed that will be used on the street most of the time, if that makes any difference...

Thank you!

So I take it that this is considered your toot?? LOL

If IQ52 builds it, we could test it in my Bird for a couple nights to be sure it runs right! Only a couple hours from Nampa. Be glad to help out !

Sorry I missed the Tim @ FHO part of your post (have not figured out how I possibly missed it yet)....I guess I'll have to read better or have fewer beers when I am on the FBBO site.

My buddy in OR just got his Aruzza built hemi for his 69 RR and is quite impressed. He says Aruzza was great to deal with also.

Hemi (eddie) Haines is slowing down and likely wont be doing as many builds, or any, in the future. At least that's what he told me.

Thank you guys so much for your replies! I will look into each and every one.

As stated in the original post, Tim @ FHO will only build 572 Hemis that easily surpass 700 hp, which I don't want.

How will you drive around town with a long block? :tongueflap: Thank you for the offer though!

You may consider trading the block you have for an iron hemi if you're not going to use its potential... those aluminum ones can be built to 2000+

Although it is not a Hemi, he has built Hemi's for Ken Montgomery and the 555 cars: ken-montgomerys-place.jpg. Telephone, 570-784-0694.

Well, I want the aluminum hemi because of the weight savings mostly. I don't really mind that the block can take three times the punishment, it's an added bonus. I know, I can save a couple of thousands on the iron block, but in the end that is not so much compared to the cost of a complete Hemi with all the components that goes on after the short block has been assembled.
