It's been a while since I've had the chance to mess with this, so I'm considering passing it to a professional. Problem is I don't want the Bondo buildup fender I already have. Any recommendations to find a replacement piece? I'm waiting to hear back from Desert Auto Parts and haven't found anything on the forum.

In a perfect world someone would repo these quarters.:)
They're assume.

AMD, where are you?

I have the aftermarket quarter skins but they aren't exact plus it won't cover the top and back sections.

My biggest issue is the end. I have some of those quarters but it's only side sheet metal and it doesn't cover the curves. DVAP says they have one. Not rust free, but ilI'see what they have. I cut most of the Bondo off last night and this is what is left. So I think it would be a good idea for some metal back in there.

Look around craigslist. I remember seeing this panel for sale. If I come by it again, will post.

I have some panels that came with my car, not sure of fitment or anything, but i could take some pics of them for you, see if they would help.

Why is everyone so afraid of bondo anyway?

When OE or AMD panels were not available years ago did we not use bondo for repairs such as the OP car requires? Im not dissing your car by any means, I just dont see why everyone is so afraid of a little bondo. When done properly what is the big issue?
Some people must be taking their car with them when they go is all I can figure.

The issue with my car is the Bondo wasn't done right in the first place. It should be used at a minimum and it was used to form the body lines of the back quarter. I will use some all metal but I plan on using a bare minimum.

AMD doesn't have plans to offer 66/67 Charger quarters.

Color me not surprised .
But a full skin would be all that is needed by most I would think.
And easy to install.
Even cutting and splicing as necessary

(I can do body lines with filler but it's more difficult than using a good piece of metal)

Your panel doesn't look that bad and you may be able to use some dollies to get it straighter and then a skim coat.

If you do go the replacement route , lucky for you the area you need is not the area that typically rusts out. Your best bet will be to find someone with a parts car and get that section of skin off a rust bucket or picked apart junkyard car that has that section in good shape.
Check the for sale on this site first

Nice Job 71466 Charger, just what the OP could do for his fix and the pictures show the steps. Thanks for posting

Exactly.
Post 14.
Don't need a full quarter.
Just some patch panels would be better than a full quarter most of the time anyway.
