I wanted to know the thoughts on using a small block to big block conversion mount versus a spool mount remanufactured kit.

I pulled 383 from my '73 charger that has a small block K frame with a cut back oil pan and spool mounts. Since I know the Mancini spool mounts are dimensioned the same as the original spool mounts that were in it, should I just go back with them; or should I go ahead and put the conversion mounts from schumacher that will allow me to eventually put a full size oil pan back in it?

Either way, I am installing a remote oil filter kit and a small oil cooler to add capacity to the system so going back with the original spool mounts won't hurt me too much.

Go with the Schumacher mounts. Far superior to any other conversion mount out there and they will position the engine correctly. Regular BB spool mounts on a small block k-frame twist the engine so to say. Find a 971 oil pan which is correct for 73 and up BB B-bodies.

Save yourself some problems and use the Schumacher mounts.
A incorrectly placed engines will cause a lot of headaches down
the road!

Another option which is the way that I went about it is to modify the original K member to big block specs and you can use the proper stock big block spool mounts from 73 and up. This is an article from Big Block Dart, I believe you move the drivers side frame mount back 1 3/16 and move the passenger side back 13/16 worked great for me.
