Got a remote mirror on my 64 440 how do you take it apart from the remote switch inside i have to replace the mirror but dont want to cut the cables etc

Very carefully. Can you post pics of what your working on? I took apart my 67 mirror but I'm not sure if it's the same as 64.

The newer one I did had a screw going up into the arm next to the cables. The head fit on only one way and the cable routing made a difference.

Thanks will check mine out closer i can see the three little ends. On the stick part and looks like with needle nose pliers can pull on cable and cable may come out. But my real problem comes were the sleeve over the cable is being held. I'm afraid of breaking it. Maybe the best thing to do is find a new assembly first before i rear this one apart.
