This is on a 68 Charger with a 440. I'm removing the header to fix a leak. I did this a couple weeks ago on my Power Wagon and used a Remflex gasket as some of you recommended. I'll use the other gasket on the car. I thought I'd pull to header out the top but that didn't work. I'm hoping I can get it out the bottom. Is that possible? Do I have to remove the center link? I want to get it on the bench so I can file it.
I'm also going to get longer bolts as the ones now are only 3/4" and with the thicker Remflex gasket it doesn't leave a lot of catch.

It’s not hard to see where the leak is.

I was able to get both headers out the bottom without removing the center link, just had the crank the wheel all the way to one side, forget which side.

Most of the time out from the bottom. Every header is different. Having the torsion bar out can make a big difference but not usually needed.

Ya, torsion bar was in the way. Couldn't quite get by it. And you turn the wheels to the left.

Perhaps it depends on the brand of headers but we just couldn't get it out. I was able to check the center ports with a short straight edge and do some filing with it in the car.

New bolts are to arrive on Monday.
