Thinkin of taking the heater hoses off the engine on my 318 Coronet. My question is, can I just plug the outlets on the manifold and water pump or do I have to let them circulate.

Do not plug them..... run a line from one to the other without having a kink. Plugging them creates unwanted eddie's (cyclic currents) in the coolant system

Horsemanure

Many MANY cars use water control valves which shut off the heater flow.

Well your a happy little fella aren't you? And how many of those "many many" cars were engineered in '66-'70 with water control valves by mopar? Venturi or impellar design would have been different for restrictive flow. It's called Dynamics.

Sorry, you are simply incorrect. I don't know why you think I'm unhappy. Engines care not if the heater valve is on or off. Just about anything with AC has a water control valve, and I was not aware that we were limited to 66-70

I don't know man...you just seem like an unhappy guy sorry to say. As far as the air conditioning water valve, it acts as a regulator and then onto the bypass valve assembly if warrented, not like two plugs in a water pump housing. The A/C cooling systems had a bit different cooling design/parts, including the water pump and pump housing layout, as well as several other features. I'll agree to disagree and leave it at that.

You are in no position to judge my "level of happiness" or any other parameter that might have to do with my personal life.

I could find more, but I'm starting to get unhappy

I'd hate to break it to you, but I can judge anything I want being this is an public forum. I'm not being profane or out of line, just stating what I see. Sorry to get you all jimmyed up about it....not trying to make you unhappy or anything. As far as your pic's....Bottom one has a looped heater hose lines as mentioned.....Middle you can't see...and top, who knows what water pump/housing/rad/size-depth of plug used to offset the delete?

We done yet??? This is by far the longest "conversation" i've had on simply bypassing a heater core. I don't want to sit and argue with you, I simply disagree

Why are you wasting your time? Honestly, that is what you are doing here, besides wasting mine. Think of all the other things you could have done instead of surfing the net for heater delete car pictures. Are you that unhappy it's your mission to make others the same or do you feel it's an absolute necessity to prove me wrong? I do enjoy the pic's, but who's to say what water pump configuration is in those cars, how deep are the plugs? Are they flush to the inside? Those pic's don't answer any of that and I still don't agree.

This thread has turned into a squabbling embarrassment to this site as well as topic and I wish I wouldn't have taken the time to respond to your "horsemanure" jab. Now if you feel the need to continue with your little escapade, go for it champ, but i'm done with it.
You definetley have proved a couple things to me, but I wouldn't go counting them as positives, that's for sure.

Best of luck to ya and have a good night :icon_thumright:
