What is this thing called?

I had a spare vacuum switch, and I opened it up since it was in bad shape, and the nipples have a larger inner diameter than the holes on the flip side of the nipples. So, if I drill the holes out to put in the brass tubes, I wonder what that would do to the function of the switch. Plus, if I go with very small tubes to keep the orifices the same size, then the vacuum hoses won't fit.
And I went on ebay, and the only ones that were listed were not right for my car.
Fill the end of the tubes with solder or jb weld, then drill out to the original size.
