Removing Hub Caps?

Just put steelies, painted my body color with hub caps.. Question:
Does anybody know how to remove hub caps without scratching painted wheels??

Tape the tool you are going to use

I use a brake adjuster dipped in plasti-dip. A taped on piece of old inner tube works as well

I use a long breaker bar and wrap the end in doubled up heavy terry cloth towel. Same for area that contacts outer rim.

Mac Tools TT 68 - I still have an ancient one from the 80's.

An OE lug wrench....with a rag where it contacts the rim painted area.

One good thwack on the wrench and the cap should pop free.

Re-installation can be made easier if you spit on that thang.
