repairing ss rocker moldings

One of my rocker moldings on the 67 coronet rt had a past repair and the metal was worked too much and it is stretched out . Does not want to return to a level plane. I’ve seen metal shrinking discs advertised and was wondering if anyone has experience using one to shrink metal and if they work well.

All they do is cause friction and heat which you can do with a small torch, then spray some
cold water on the area to "Shrink" the spot.

They work but stainless is tuff enough already to deal with i'd use a low temp oxy acetylene torch to shrink it.

Is there a chance of discoloration of the metal?

Always and you will have to sand out any excess heat marks
