replaced distributor won't crank

Did you let a kid carry the plugs for you?
He didn't tell you he dropped 'em.
I hear that, Darthomas!

Fought for two days, trying to figure why last V8 I built wouldn't run right. Checked everything ignition wise, timing, so on.
Wound up my brand new set of spark plugs...5 of 8 were cracked...and wouldn't fire right. Real head-banging on that one. Would have never dreamed.
well i did not need a case of beer, but i could use a few right now,guy came over to look and found that the spark plugs are not getting fire,i did what you said and he looked and agreed that was right, reason for not cranking not timing, there is no spark at all, never had this problem before, the ecu is orange and old, distributor wires are brittle and weak,i was going to replace all that stuff,so now i will have to,thanks for all the help.

Lol! That was 25 years ago...after I finally cooled down, did the 2+2 thing...figured it was probably those rotten counter guys at the parts house, tossing those parts around.
Did I take the set back??? Your damn right. That's where I got the others, and mentioned I might be back again!!!

Good deal, moparjohnny! Yeah, takes all the parts and pieces working together, to get it done.
Nothing to worry about...I had to teach myself. Daddy never did.

Were they Champions? We had a set failure like that.

Yup...Champions. But, gotta add, I've 'only' used Champion plugs all my driving life. That one set is the only time I've ever had any problems with them.
So, to me, 2+2 stuff, only thing I see is they are being mis-handled. On the same car, think I remember putting new plugs in at least two, or three times, before the car went away. No problems with the changed sets.
