the old one had a ground wire on it,the standard one does not,so what do i do with the ground wire that was on the old automatic trans one? should the new one be grounded as well? thanks

there is no place for a ground connection on the standard relay. it has one clip and i used the yellow wire that goes to the bulkhead for that.

The ground wire you have is the neutral safety wire the one you have will work with out it you just can start in gear
which could cause you trouble
