Replacement Dash Pad

Good Evening All

Who makes factory looking dash pads for 71 B Bodies?
Not looking fo a cap, but the actual pad with steel or fibreglass backing.
Looked at 'Legendary' but could not find anything.

These are crap, i got one, and for the price, its junk, will be sending it back. Its made from fiberglass and wrapped vinyl, and its too flimsy, flexible, and the drivers side is bowed, and for the cost, not a good job done on this part. If you get one from some where else let me know the quility, otherwise i am sending my original to Just Dashes to get redone!

Let us know what you come up with. It's another one on the to do list. But very helpful to know where to buy before hand.

Hey Omni, let us know how they look in person. I talked to Carol at Carolina and said someone was coming down to see one in person, assuming that is you. She also sent me some pictures of two dashes they just did for 71-74 B-body, and i must say, they appear to be the most accurate.

Their process is to use a steel core, all new foam, and they use a press mold to form the vinyl onto the core. There are two areas that most places have not gotten correct, one the edge around the AC vent area, originals had this edge squared off and most reproductions are rounded, very noticable, and two, the groove around the area that surrounds the instrument cluster. Most have this groove too wide and not deep enough. Carolina appears to have gotten this correct. We will see when mine arrives in about 6 weeks.

Great people to talk to and glad that Carol took the time to provide the details i needed!!!

Here is one from Dash Masters next to my original. Believe Dantes sell this one. They fit pretty good except for the 2 inserts are tight.

I got my dash pad today, everything looks good, except the grain is not correct, which i could live with, but it has a blem right in the middle of the pad above the instrument cluster area. Also, i ordered from Carolina, it took almost 8 weeks, and it shipped not from Carolina but from ultimate rides in El Paso!!! Whats up with that? Anyone know? Maybe gonna be an interesting call tomorrow to the carolins folks!

i dont have pics, but it looks good, except for the blem in the vinyl. Its back in the box at the moment, waiting to see if i need to send this one back to be redone or if they will send me another first.
