I put a dash cap on my 69 Roadrunner about 7 years ago...It was not a
El cheapo I think I paid $80 to $100 ..My question is I would like to get a used padded dash and go that route .Having to remove original dash is this going to be a headache and should I just avoid and just live with cap?..Does the cap on top of the dash make it any more difficult
Thanks in advance..Rick.:eusa_think:

To replace a dash pad, and this goes for most all 60's & 70's cars, you need to remove the instrument panel and glove box insert...maybe some A/C ducting if factory equipped. Once these are out of the way, you can access the nuts that hold it in place. Usually a bit time consuming, but not that technical. The worrisome part is getting electrical connectors off the back of the instrument panel without cracking or breaking them...they are now 'old plastic', and can be a bit fragile. As long as you are careful, it 'should' go smoothly. Good luck!
