Replacing the bent all to hell oil pan on the '68 GTX

It's slot harder. to do these things at this stage of life.
I think we don't have the confidence we used to have?
Or maybe it's because people say,Are you still crawling
around under there at your age??????
I've decided I have a Hell of a lot of experience,more
than most of the guys that day the above
I can still do this stuff, maybe a different way I
Used to,but I get the job done.
Eh, in my case it's just some old rust - and a heaping helping of surgeries and missing parts in me.
I can say that today, I don't feel half as bad as I thought I would. Collapsed disc in neck raising a bit
of a fuss, but other than that, not bad at all.
Even went for a drive today. :)

Test drive!

"Knock on simulated wood..." :)

Chalk up another successful chapter in your GTX memoirs

Car sounds real good! Thanks for sharing!
Seeing those mountains in the background on your video makes me homesick.

Thanks, my friend. :)
I stuck a fresh piece of big ol' cardboard under the car in the garage last evening and since
I got back with her today, I've consulted it a couple times with a drop light, looking for drippage.
Nothing so far, knock wood.

Mine developed a coolant leak (warped t-stat housing) fixed that. Lately the kickdown leaver shaft seal leaks intermittently and I just noticed a drop from the pinion seal. They call this Horse Power Sweat!

Yeah, thermostat housing seals. Oy...
I'm told they're not truly MOPARS if they don't leak a little out of something. :)
I'm used to pinion seals and rear main seals leaking usually. I don't even think anything of those...

(P.S. I figured I'd be eatin' some shiyat from some folks about my yapping in the video, especially the corny crack about "knock on simulated wood" (GTX's interiors being full of the stuff and all)).
I was just happy to be out in the car with nothing pressing on me, really. Nice little break before returning to reality. :)

I experience the same thing when I'm driving mine. I guess it's a "back in time travel machine" :D
Absolutely. One of the strongest appeals to old rides is the ability to, just for a little while, go back in time a little bit - with all that entails for each of us.

For me, I'm 20 years old again without a care in the world and nothing hurts...… :)

Follow up bit of video. Getting more comfortable with the car FINALLY now after all
these years....

Still no drips on the cardboard...

Sweet video love the backroads!
Thanks. Yeah, I'm spoiled to death with the abundance of roads with next to no traffic out here.
After growing up and living in cities the first 35 years, this beats that all to hell.

Besides, it takes a country mile to get the GTX woah'ed down... :)

Heh, I can relate on needing spec(tacle)s, trust me. :)
I've actually gotten to drive the GTX all three days this weekend, heat (90's) and all.
Boy, she needs better brakes - but I enjoyed hell out of it anyways.
