I watched another old episode of My Classic Car last night. The Year One Road Runner caught my eye. Especially the dash. Have a look. It may give you some ideas, too.

My Classic Car: Season 12, Ep. 4 "Resto-mods, Floor Coating System"

Also, check out the restoration photos they shared on Year One's website.

I think this is the one, its different.. Dash is kind of cool looking, I like the engine. Thanks..

I'm in love with the whole car.

It's unfortunate that all the custom dash pods available on the market seem to be for the 71-74's... Anyone know of a supplier that I might be missing?

Why not just make one? Aluminum can be worked with most woodworking tools with little effort.

That Year One 69 RR 440/505ci 6bbl EFI 4 speed Convertible {probably 8-10 y/o build now} starting @ like 10:25 mark in that video, Ron so kindly posted, is a great, well built, Resto-Mod style & probably really fun car to drive too... I'm not real big on the giant rear graphics, but it a damn cool car, none the less...

The dash, the roadlamps, the billboards. What a badass car :eusa_drool:

x2! Aluminum is really easy to work with. If I pick up the pair of 70 Plymouths I've been looking at when my Charger's done I'd love to make my own dash like that

That's definitely the route I'm leaning but since I don't have the gauges yet if someone offered a complete pre-fabbed kit with gauges I'd be inclined to consider it.

:iamwithstupid: I did something for my old 68 RR & built a new one, with an additional 7th gauge {added a clock}, for my current 68 RR too, sorry guys I still haven't installed it yet, it was over $700 in parts & a couple days of labor, to do the aluminum panel, paint, install the Autometer Classic style w/chrome bezels, w/mech. 3-3/8" Tach & Speedo, with 5) 2-1/16" {not 2-5/16"} gauges, pods & wiring harness & warning indicator lights etc.

Thanks for posting yours Budnicks I had seen your previously in the "Let's see your custom dashes thread"... I think I remember reading that you've got a bunch of other projects you're dealing with so that's why it's still sitting on the bench... Looks like it came together very nicely and can't wait to see pics when It's in place and lit up! If you ever have a change of heart about installing it and decide to stay stock shoot me a PM I'm sure we could work something out :)

Thanks HYRDGOON, this is the second one of these, that I built, I really liked the other one in my old car, got quite a few compliments on the style... I'm kind of just procrastinating & working on other stuff instead & the car has a decent working gauge cluster, well most of the time anyway...LOL... I'm not really in any big hurry either, It's a PITA too... I will probably do the install sometime soon, this car isn't going anywhere any time soon, just spending time on other things...

I like it with the exception of the bill boards .. I hate those and the driving lights and front chin spoiler .. not a fan there either. Otherwise pretty cool car.

No Problem Budnicks! And I know what you mean my car is about to undergo some serious changes over this winter so I'm trying to get all my ducks in a row part-wise and save myself a little legwork where possible as I'm sure there will be a time crunch with work keeping me much busier through the winter months! If I get to fabbing one myself I'm sure I may pick your brain a bit

Mike

This is a dash panel I built out of aluminum but I decided to place a vinyl carbon fiber overlay on it. Its for a rallye dash. Its not too difficult, just need a jig saw & a hole saw.CAM00100.jpg

Check the credits on Year One's website for that car. The name of the company they had make the custom instrument panel is there.
