Hello There, I'm in Ireland where I'm restoring a '64 Polara sedan which is Right Hand Drive, export model made in Windsor Ontario, it's a 318 poly-block car. I was on here about 2 years ago looking for trim clips and was directed towards Joe Suchy who has been most helpful - I've since bought parts off him and got some good advice.

Having first picked the worst, laziest conscience-free scammer of a 'body man' in Ireland, I moved the car last October to a really good guy who has since spent about 300 hours redoing stuff that was badly done and doing stuff that should've been done. Now, after 3 years and 2 months the car is ready for paint BUT I really need the mix formula for Anniversary Gold - I don't mean the order code as found on Paintref. but the actual mix formula. If anyone can help with this I'd be most greatful.

I was going to use a deeper gold with more 'flake but tried a couple of samples off swatches and they just didn't look right-if I get to upload pics you'll see what I mean - it's hard to judge off a swatch what it'll actually look like ON the car. Unfortunately I didn't keep a sample before Istripped the car PAINT7.jpgPAINT10.jpgpolara lake.jpgThe last pic is 'before'

hi and welcome to the site nice 64 Polara :headbang:

welcome to FBBO from way across the pond
right hand drive, not very many of them left I'll bet

good luck with the 64 Polara RHD version

Welcome to FBBO. 64 Polaras are rare enough, I'm not sure I've ever seen one with right hand drive.

Anniversary Gold

Welcome to the forum!
I hope the "paint-code" info helps you!
Hey Mr. Bee-ski, My bodyman got the mix code for the paint today, I had forwarded your info but we don't get DuPont over here, however it prompted further digging - my guy has used a brand called Standox for decades and another old-timer in that company finally managed to dig up the codes - most of 'em have been reformulated over the years but he still came back with 2 slightly different shades one of which I assume to be the 880 model one referred to in your post.
I saw a sample patch of 'my' one today, it looked great and my car should have paint in the next few days, when it does I'll post photo's.

Thanks from P O'Lara

Hi Eric 383,
I'm 20-odd miles from your nephew in the town of Gort, I try to avoid Galway as the traffic and parking are hellish !!

Thanks for the welcome.

Hey mopar smitty and budnicks,
All the RHD Export models were made in Windsor Ontario for export to England,Australia,New Zealand and S.Africa. I've seen a 440 powered 64 Polara RHD in Australia on propane used as a drag tow car.
You'll still see 'em for sale in these countries on the 'net. Unfortunately they weren't great at keeping prod. recordsand I ain't about to trouble Mr. Govier about it. The Canadian connection suits me as I was brought to Toronto from England at 6 months old, did 8 yrs. there and 4 in B.C., thus my love of American cars. I have an uncle and cousins in Ontario , have been to the Mopar show in New Hamburg and bought parts from National Moparts in Beaverton.

Thanks to all you guys for the welcome, it's great to see that amongst all the high-dollar cars people still value the humble 4-door small block 2 barrel single exhaust grandpa's car sedan. ( 25 MPG at 55 MPH )

Hi P O'Lara, welcome:wav:

What part of B.C. were you in? You 'before' picture already looks pretty good!

Sorry for not replying sooner. I was in Ashcroft from '61 to 64-5. The 'before picture is deceptive, it was a great 10-20 footer but aside from the usual door bottoms, quarters front and rear rear windscreen channels etc the front cowl on both sides was a rats nest of rust whish was anle bubbles on top.
