Okay so I just installed a new retrosound radio in my 71 SSP. (Which, by the way, did not fit so I had to flush mount it so I didn’t have to cut my dash all up).
So while the other radio was out I changed the one dash light bulb that was out that I could finally reach. So I’m testing the radio all proud of myself on the first try and it working perfectly I flip the lights on to see if that new bulb is looking good and my radio resets....
I did this a couple times and about 50/50 when I turn lights on or hit high beams the radio resets. Any thoughts?

Off the top? Check ur grounds.

Hey, how’s the sound? I was actually about to pull the trigger on one today for my parents for Christmas. Is it worth the money? Curious to know from someone who has one. Thanks!

Have one in the roadrunner. Sounds great. Also added two rear speakers and one up front.

How was the fit on yours? My parents 69 Charger has the am radio with the dials, and this sounds like a great upgrade.

It fit well but the dials are a little crooked. The brackets you attach to the main unit have a slot type place where you put the dials in. They can slide left and right in that slot. So you can adjust the gap around the dials.

Dumb question, but the pic they show of the radio on RetroSounds website shows numbers on the radio face that emulate the stock am radio frequencies, but when your video plays, I see the blue digital numbers but not the white printed AM numbers. Are those not actually on the radio face or do they disappear when the radio is on? Just wondering what it looks like when’s it’s not on. Thanks

You can buy aftermarket screen protectors that look like the stock ones. You can see them all at classic industries. But it uses digital display.

This sounds like a classic case of voltage drop that most modern electrical solid state units won't tolerate. My new digital radio did the same thing. If you have a good ground, the only solution is to interface the power to the radio with a relay, switched by on by key, and powered directly from battery source. There may actually be an issue with the unit, I'd contact the manufacturer. There are also reports online of some of these units going south right off the get-go. Read your warranty and follow installation instructions to a tee.

I'll try to reground it tonight and let you know the results. Thanks for the input
