So I need to get my reverse lights working before even thinking about an inspection, looking for some pointers.

Where is the switch/sensor that turns them on (A833)? There is nothing on my shifter (hurst)

I haven't see anything on the shifter so thinking it's on the tranny? (Just rebuilt my shifter)

I've checked fuses and the bulbs look fine, going to change all bulbs and fuses anyways seeing as the car is new to me.

Any thoughts are greatly appreciated!

would be nice to know what we are working on here...

reverse switch is in rear of trans on drivers side. Switch gets its power from wiper switch, at least on my cars. the goes through firewall, down to switch, then back up to firewall, through connector, then out to rear lights.

Is there a plug on the switch? Check to see if you have power there to one of the terminals when key is on.

how do fuses & bulbs "look fine"?? Did you test them with OHM meter?

Did you put trans in reverse with key on? Thats the only way they will work

Sorry, it's a 73 roadrunner.

Bulbs didn't rattle/filament was fine. Fuses weren't visibly burnt.

Car was running, lights on in reverse.

Thanks for the info, I'll go test a few things....
