right rear brake light will not work

I have a 67 Dodge Coronet. Right rear brake light will not operate. Both tail lights work, turn signals work, emergency flasher works, and left brake light works but right rear brake light will not. I have new bulbs and tested them. I check the ground at the socket, it is good. I traced the continuity of the wires and it is good. The stop light switch is working as the left brake light works. Can anyone help?

Happened to my 64 D200 CSS and after checking the wires, I tried another bulb, same thing, so another and BINGO, we have turn and brake lights.

Right Rear Brake Light

Please explain Switch. Are you referring to the plastic wish bone cancelling device with two wires that connect to existing wires in the column, or is there more to it that must be replaced? Without pulling the steering wheel I can't see the switch. I replaced the wishbone part to correct a broken piece that would not cancel the signal.

Did your brake light issue come about after you replaced that part? The switch is the entire plastic assembly in the column, Including the cancelling cam you changed. The two wires in the pic below are usually the culprit. They take a couple hair pin turns in the assembly and like to crack/break at those points. Either that or the contacts they interface with. Anyways, a guy would be hard pressed to find any new aftermarket/RMFG turn signal switches/cams that are worth a can of beans..They all suck! I'd at least revisit the wiring and operation of that piece you changed.

Take the cancel cam back off. Gently pry the the four spring wires a bit away from the cancel cam so they make better contact when you reinstall it. Try not to over tighten the screw when you reinstall it it tends to distort it. Thats what worked for me.

just buy a new complete switch....I think a member here sells them...I have bought 2 and have had no issues
