Has anyone purchased / installed one of these rear disc brake conversion kits made by Right Stuff? Part # MDCRD01. The kit is priced good and universal for both the 8.75 & Dana 60 and includes the E-brake cables, etc. Any info is appreciated.

Oh god yes stay away from it!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Call PST! What I mean is Call them tell them you want a brake conversion kit but with the correct booster like the one shown in the pirate jack link. Or go to the vendor section of this site and post your need.

Or if you're on a budget call Pirate Jack Brakes but for god sake stay away from the RSD stuff the booster is not right for our cars.

Oh also get the stainless steel braided brake to caliper lines the stock style ones are too short. RSD will give you the part number for the correct ones from summit.

Thanks for the info Big. No power brakes on the post (solid roller cam). Being a rear disc conversion I would need to modify the steel brake lines on the diff. So the hoses in the kit for the rear are too short?

Sorry didn't see the word rear just got all excited about the RSD stuff lol Braided lines are the way to go.

LOL - no problem Big. Thanks for the tip on the steel braided. I've got drums on the dana now and thought that this kit for $400 bucks is a pretty decent upgrade if it fits and all that.

I cannot say for sure on the right stuff disc brake conversion kits but I put SSBC front and rear kits on my 68 charger and they are complete junk. The front kit fit on no problem but the back would not fit, called SSBC and the stupid tech guys kept saying there was something wrong with the rear end yet it fit differently on 3 different rear ends I tried putting it on to figure out what was wrong with it after redoing their brackets to make the kit fit and getting everything all bleed the first time I hit the pumped pedal the front brakes stuck and the rear calipers blew the seals out leaking brake fluid all over my brand new 17'' rims. Called SSBC they wouldn't do anything about it bought new rebuild kits for the rear calipers when I took them apart there was aluminum shavings from the machine process all over in them cleaned them out put the new seals in and as soon as I pumped the brake pedal it did it again if you want to try rolling the car around the garage by pushing it you need at least 2 people because the front calipers are sticking making it hard to roll around. I'm going to rip that junk off and do something else, just wanted to give you a heads up if you were thinking of buying any of their products stay away it is a waste of your hard earned money and time. Talked to a qualified restoration shop that was putting SSBC kits on a 66 mustang and ran into the fitment issues and the rude tech guys telling them the same thing that it was not their kit that was the problem but something wrong with the 9 inch rear and the shop ended up making new brackets for the customers mustang. happy moparing and good luck with whatever kit you purchase

My 2 cents is to keep the rear drums. After parking brake issues are completed the cost to benefit ratio is wrong.

That's a tough break on your disc brake conversion Charger 68. Looks like this is becoming a case of you get what you pay for. Got Willwoods on the front, that may be the way to go for the rears too.

Even when you shell out the money you still get ripped off. I went with the SSBC kit because their kit let you still use the original style axle bearings. When I had the dana rebuilt I put moser axle's in with new bearings like the originals ever other kit I found you had to use the green bearings and I hate those bearings I have had them fail so I will never use again. I got the SSBC force 10 kit front and rear 4 piston aluminum calipers with the stainless steel pistons and ended up wasting a tad over $2100.00 for the kit for that much money they should have fit and worked perfect. The front calipers can be replaced with factory A-bodies and the rears are factory ford super coupe and will bolt up to the SSBC brackets so I do not know if I am just going to throw those on and try to salvage some of the money I spent or toss everything in the dumpster and try to find other kits. Biggest issue is I want to stay with the factory axle bearings. Tired of big name company's charging prices like that and ripping people off, don't get me started on my $550.00 set of comp cams hyd. roller lifters that failed within a few hours after start up on my fresh 383 thank god they did not snap the tie bar and wipe out my rockers or damage my indy heads. The joys of modifying cars

I feel your pain Charger. Some bad luck going on your way.. I run the green bearings on Moser axles, no problems there. I run a HR314 Comp retro hydraulic roller in my 427 sbc and that's working well too. Hoping for same with my rear disc brake conversion on the dana.

malex if you have the green bearings and have good luck with them you have a decent amount of brake kits to look at and choose from. After the lifters I read up on how a lot of comp lifters and cams are from china cores. Comp replaced them for free put them in and torqued the rocker shafts but still have not lashed the valves yet have all the rockers backed off for now. At least you are having good luck with your purchases, Oh I can't forget my keisler engineering tk500 5spd that is in the car, the company filed bankruptcy last fall and now I am out my driveshaft that I have not received and the warranty on the transmission, there is $4000.00 I hope I don't end up having a issue with. The company gave me the name of a driveshaft place in Tn. that will make my driveshaft but I have to pay them $400.00 for a driveshaft I already paid for when I bought the transmission kit.

I have front and rear discs from Master Brake on my 65. Can't tell you about any installation issues (bought the car with them) but they work great. My daily driver is a 2003 Infiniti coupe with Brembo calipers, new pads and rotors. The Belvedere stops better

MB is the brand pirate jack sells it is good. You learn all this stuff after you get screwed and make big mistakes lmao.
